Purpose[edit | edit source]

The purpose of World Asthma Day is to raise awareness about the prevalence and severity of asthma, a chronic disease that affects the airways in the lungs. The day also aims to share the latest research and information about asthma management and prevention.

Activities[edit | edit source]

Many organizations also use the day to advocate for policies and practices that can reduce the impact of asthma on individuals and communities.

Each year, World Asthma Day has a different theme, chosen by GINA. Past themes have included "Unmet Needs of Asthma" and "You Can Control Your Asthma".
