Yoshi's Cookie
Yoshi's Cookie is a puzzle video game developed by Bullet-Proof Software and published by Nintendo. The game was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and Game Boy in 1992, and later for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1993. It features the popular Nintendo character Yoshi from the Mario series.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
In Yoshi's Cookie, players must clear a grid of cookies by aligning them into rows or columns of the same type. The game features several types of cookies, each with a distinct shape and color. Players can move entire rows or columns to create matches. When a match is made, the cookies disappear, and new cookies fill the grid. The objective is to clear all the cookies before time runs out.
The game includes both single-player and multiplayer modes. In single-player mode, players progress through increasingly difficult levels. In multiplayer mode, two players compete to clear their grids faster than their opponent.
Development[edit | edit source]
Yoshi's Cookie was developed by Bullet-Proof Software, a company known for its work on puzzle games. The game was designed by David Nolte and features music composed by Akira Satou. The NES and Game Boy versions were released in 1992, while the SNES version, which includes additional features and improved graphics, was released in 1993.
Reception[edit | edit source]
Yoshi's Cookie received generally positive reviews from critics. The game's simple yet addictive gameplay was praised, as well as its colorful graphics and catchy music. It has since become a cult classic among fans of puzzle games and the Mario series.
Legacy[edit | edit source]
Yoshi's Cookie has been re-released on several platforms over the years. It was made available on the Wii's Virtual Console in 2008 and later on the Wii U's Virtual Console. The game has also inspired similar puzzle games and remains a beloved title among fans of the genre.
