Zest (brand)
Article about the Zest brand of soap
Zest is a brand of soap that was introduced in 1955 by Procter & Gamble. It is known for its slogan "Zestfully Clean!" and has been marketed as a soap that leaves no sticky residue on the skin. The brand has undergone various changes in ownership and product formulation over the years.
History[edit | edit source]
Zest was launched by Procter & Gamble in 1955. The brand was initially marketed as a "deodorant bar" that left no soap scum, distinguishing it from other soaps of the time. This was due to its unique formulation that included synthetic detergents instead of traditional soap ingredients.
In 2011, Procter & Gamble sold the Zest brand to High Ridge Brands, a company that specializes in personal care products. Under High Ridge Brands, Zest expanded its product line to include body washes and other personal care items.
Product Line[edit | edit source]
Zest offers a variety of products, including bar soaps and body washes. The brand is known for its refreshing scents and vibrant packaging. Some of the popular variants include:
- Zest Aqua
- Zest Ocean Breeze
- Zest Fresh Aloe
These products are designed to provide a refreshing and clean feeling without leaving a sticky residue.
Marketing[edit | edit source]
Zest has been marketed with the memorable slogan "Zestfully Clean!" which emphasizes the product's ability to leave the skin feeling clean and fresh. The brand has used various advertising campaigns over the years to promote its products, often highlighting the absence of soap scum and the invigorating scents.
Ownership Changes[edit | edit source]
After being sold by Procter & Gamble, Zest was acquired by High Ridge Brands. In 2019, High Ridge Brands filed for bankruptcy, and the Zest brand was subsequently acquired by Voyant Beauty, a company that focuses on beauty and personal care products.
