Zywiec Beer
Zywiec Beer is a popular beer brand from Poland. It is named after the town of Zywiec, where it was first brewed in 1856. The beer is a product of the Zywiec Brewery, one of the oldest and largest breweries in Poland.
History[edit | edit source]
The Zywiec Brewery was established in 1856 by Archduke Albrecht Friedrich of Austria in the town of Zywiec. The brewery was nationalized after World War II and has since been privatized. Today, it is owned by Heineken International, a Dutch brewing company.
Production[edit | edit source]
Zywiec Beer is brewed using a traditional recipe that includes three main ingredients: water, malted barley, and hops. The water used in the brewing process comes from the brewery's own artesian wells. The malted barley gives the beer its distinctive flavor and color, while the hops add bitterness and aroma.
Varieties[edit | edit source]
There are several varieties of Zywiec Beer, including:
- Zywiec Original: This is the classic Zywiec lager, known for its golden color and crisp, refreshing taste.
- Zywiec Porter: A dark beer with a rich, malty flavor and a hint of bitterness.
- Zywiec Bock: A strong, dark beer with a sweet, malty flavor and a high alcohol content.
Distribution[edit | edit source]
Zywiec Beer is widely distributed in Poland and is also exported to many countries around the world, including the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
Awards and Recognition[edit | edit source]
Zywiec Beer has won numerous awards for its quality and taste, including gold medals at the World Beer Cup and the European Beer Star competition.
