The 116th Street–Columbia University station is a local station on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line of the New York City Subway. Located at the intersection of 116th Street and Broadway in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, it is served by the 1 train at all times.

The station opened on October 27, 1904, as part of the original subway line operated by the IRT. It was one of the 28 stations included in the first section of the New York City Subway, which ran from City Hall to 145th Street.
Station layout[edit | edit source]
The station has two side platforms and three tracks, with the center track not used in regular service. The platforms are equipped with modern amenities, including Wi-Fi and accessibility features. The southbound platform is accessible via an elevator, making it compliant with the ADA.
Entrances and exits[edit | edit source]
The station has several entrances and exits, all located at the intersection of 116th Street and Broadway. The main entrance is situated at the southeast corner of the intersection, providing access to both platforms.
