2-FMA

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

2-Fluoromethamphetamine (2-FMA) is a psychoactive drug and research chemical of the phenethylamine and amphetamine chemical classes. It produces stimulant effects when administered.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

2-FMA is a member of the fluoroamphetamine family. Its chemical structure consists of a phenethylamine core featuring a phenyl ring bound to an amino (NH2) group through an ethyl chain with a methyl group attached to the alpha carbon, and a fluorine atom attached to the beta carbon. These features make it a member of the amphetamine class of compounds.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The exact mechanism of action of 2-FMA is not well understood. However, it is believed to increase levels of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin in the brain by inhibiting their reuptake and promoting their release. This can result in effects such as increased energy, focus, and euphoria.

Effects[edit | edit source]

The effects of 2-FMA can vary greatly depending on the dose, individual physiology, and method of administration. Common effects reported by users include feelings of euphoria, increased energy, enhanced focus, and increased sociability. Some users also report experiencing negative effects such as anxiety, paranoia, and insomnia.

Legal Status[edit | edit source]

The legal status of 2-FMA varies by country. In some countries, it is a controlled substance, while in others it is completely legal. It is always important to check the legal status of a substance in your country before possession or use.

Safety[edit | edit source]

As with all psychoactive substances, safety should be a top priority when using 2-FMA. It is recommended to use harm reduction practices when using this substance, such as starting with a low dose, using in a safe and comfortable environment, and never mixing with other substances.
