History and usage[edit | edit source]

25E-NBOH was first synthesized by David E. Nichols as part of his research at the Purdue University. It was later studied by a team at the University of Copenhagen, who published their findings in 2014. The substance is used primarily for recreational purposes, and is known for its psychedelic effects, which include open and closed-eye visuals, time distortion, enhanced introspection, and ego loss.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

25E-NBOH is a derivative of the 2C family of psychedelics, which are known for their complex and varied effects. It is structurally similar to other substances in the NBOH series, with the primary difference being the addition of an ethyl group to the nitrogen of the phenethylamine backbone.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The pharmacology of 25E-NBOH is not fully understood. It is believed to act as a potent partial agonist for the 5-HT2A receptor, which is involved in the regulation of mood, anxiety, and perception. The substance's effects are believed to result from this activity at the 5-HT2A receptor.

Effects[edit | edit source]

The effects of 25E-NBOH can vary greatly depending on the dose, the individual's physiology, and the environment in which it's taken. Common effects include visual hallucinations, altered perception of time, enhanced introspection, and a sense of euphoria. Some users also report experiencing negative effects such as anxiety, paranoia, and uncomfortable physical sensations.
