2C-N
2C-N is a psychedelic phenethylamine of the 2C family. It was first synthesized by Alexander Shulgin.
History[edit | edit source]
The synthesis and psychoactive effects of 2C-N were first documented by Alexander Shulgin in his book PiHKAL: A Chemical Love Story. Shulgin listed 2C-N as one of the chemicals he found most interesting for its unique effects.
Chemistry[edit | edit source]
2C-N, or 2,5-dimethoxy-4-nitrophenethylamine, is a member of the 2C family of phenethylamines, specifically the 2C-N subgroup, which are characterized by a two carbon chain between the aromatic ring and the amino group. The full name of the chemical is 2-(2,5-dimethoxy-4-nitrophenyl)ethanamine.
Effects[edit | edit source]
The effects of 2C-N are not well documented, as it has not been widely used or studied. However, anecdotal reports suggest that it produces effects similar to other 2C drugs, including hallucinations, altered perception of time, enhanced introspection, and increased empathy. The duration of effects is typically 4-6 hours.
Legal status[edit | edit source]
2C-N is not specifically listed in the United Nations' Convention on Psychotropic Substances, but it may be considered illegal in many countries under analogue laws.
