3β-Methoxypregnenolone (also known as 3β-MeO-P or 3β-MOP) is a neurosteroid and metabolite of the steroid hormone progesterone. It is synthesized in the central nervous system (CNS) and has been found to possess potent sedative, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant effects.

3β-Methoxypregnenolone is a pregnanolone derivative, with its structure containing a pregnane skeleton. It is a methoxy derivative of pregnenolone, with a methoxy group at the 3β-position.

3β-Methoxypregnenolone has been found to possess potent sedative, anxiolytic, and anticonvulsant effects. It acts as a positive allosteric modulator of the GABA_A receptor, the major inhibitory neurotransmitter receptor in the brain.
