3-Methyl-19-methyleneandrosta-3,5-dien-17β-ol is a synthetic androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) and a derivative of testosterone. It is also known as 3-methyl-19-norandrostadienedione and is classified as a prohormone.

3-Methyl-19-methyleneandrosta-3,5-dien-17β-ol is a synthetic androgen and anabolic steroid (AAS) and a derivative of testosterone. It is structurally related to 19-norandrostenedione and 19-norandrostenediol, with the addition of a methyl group at the 3 position and a methylene group at the 19 position.
Pharmacology[edit | edit source]
As a prohormone, 3-Methyl-19-methyleneandrosta-3,5-dien-17β-ol is converted in the body to a more active form. It has been found to have androgenic and anabolic effects, which means it can promote the development of male characteristics and increase muscle mass and strength. However, the exact mechanism of action is not fully understood.

Potential side effects of 3-Methyl-19-methyleneandrosta-3,5-dien-17β-ol include androgenic effects such as acne, hair loss, and increased aggression, as well as estrogenic effects such as gynecomastia and water retention. It may also have negative effects on the liver and cardiovascular system.
