4-Acetoxy-MiPT

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

4-Acetoxy-MiPT (also known as 4-AcO-MiPT, MiPT Acetate, or 4-Acetoxy-N-methyl-N-isopropyltryptamine) is a psychedelic tryptamine compound that is a derivative of MiPT. It is not commonly found in nature and is usually synthesized in a laboratory setting.

Chemistry[edit | edit source]

4-Acetoxy-MiPT is a synthetic tryptamine. The term "tryptamine" refers to a class of compounds that are derivatives of the amino acid tryptophan. The structure of 4-Acetoxy-MiPT includes a tryptamine backbone with an acetoxy group (AcO) attached to the fourth carbon (C4) of the indole ring, and a N-methyl-N-isopropyl group attached to the nitrogen (N) of the tryptamine.

Pharmacology[edit | edit source]

The exact mechanism of action of 4-Acetoxy-MiPT is not fully understood. However, it is believed to work by acting as an agonist at the 5-HT2A receptor, similar to other psychedelic tryptamines. This receptor is involved in cognitive processes in the prefrontal cortex, and its activation can lead to hallucinogenic effects.

Effects[edit | edit source]

The effects of 4-Acetoxy-MiPT can vary greatly depending on the dose, set, and setting. Common effects reported by users include visual hallucinations, enhanced introspection, euphoria, and altered perception of time. Some users also report experiencing negative effects such as anxiety, nausea, and uncomfortable body sensations.

Legality[edit | edit source]

The legality of 4-Acetoxy-MiPT varies by country. In some countries, it is a controlled substance, while in others it is legal to possess for personal use. It is always important to be aware of the laws in your specific location before obtaining or using this substance.

Safety[edit | edit source]

As with all psychedelic substances, it is important to use 4-Acetoxy-MiPT responsibly. This includes using an appropriate dose, being in a safe and comfortable setting, and having a sober trip sitter present if possible. It is also important to note that the long-term effects of 4-Acetoxy-MiPT use are not well-studied, and there may be potential risks that are not currently known.
