7-Hydroxymitragynine

7-Hydroxymitragynine is an alkaloid found in the Mitragyna speciosa plant, also known as kratom. It is a potent opioid analgesic and is considered the primary active compound in kratom, contributing significantly to its pain-relieving effects.

7-Hydroxymitragynine is a terpenoid indole alkaloid. It has a molecular formula of C23H30N2O5 and a molecular weight of 414.50 g/mol. The compound is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetic acid.

7-Hydroxymitragynine acts as a μ-opioid receptor agonist, similar to other opioids like morphine. However, it is significantly more potent. The compound also interacts with other opioid receptors, including the κ-opioid receptor and δ-opioid receptor, albeit to a lesser extent.
