Abiotic stress is the unfavorable effect or stress of environmental factors called stressors on the physiological functions of an organism.

Effect on the organism[edit | edit source]

Prolonged unresolved physiological stress can affect homeostasis of the organism, and may lead to damaging or pathological conditions.
