Estradiol enantate/algestone acetophenide (also known as E2-EN/DHPA) is a combination medication used in hormonal contraception. It contains two active ingredients: estradiol enantate (E2-EN), an estrogen, and algestone acetophenide (DHPA), a progestin. This combination is used primarily as a combined injectable contraceptive.
Components[edit | edit source]

- Algestone acetophenide (DHPA): A synthetic progestin used in hormonal contraception.
Mechanism of Action[edit | edit source]
The combination of estradiol enantate and algestone acetophenide works by inhibiting ovulation, altering the endometrium to prevent implantation, and thickening the cervical mucus to inhibit sperm penetration.
