Adolphus S. Solomons

Adolphus Simeon Solomons (1826–1910) was an American businessman, philanthropist, and civic leader. He was a prominent figure in the Jewish community and played a significant role in various charitable and civic organizations.

Adolphus Solomons was born on October 15, 1826, in New York City. He was the son of Solomon Solomons and Sarah Seixas Solomons. He received his early education in New York and later pursued a career in business.

Solomons began his career in the printing and publishing industry. He co-founded the publishing firm of Philp & Solomons in Washington, D.C., which became well-known for its high-quality publications and government printing contracts.

Adolphus Solomons was deeply involved in philanthropic activities. He was a founding member of the American Red Cross and worked closely with Clara Barton, the organization's founder.
