Adrian Dix (born April 20, 1964) is a Canadian politician serving as the Minister of Health for British Columbia. He is a member of the British Columbia New Democratic Party (BC NDP) and represents the Vancouver-Kingsway riding in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Adrian Dix was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. He attended University of British Columbia (UBC), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

Early Career[edit | edit source]

Dix began his political career as the Chief of Staff to then-Premier Glen Clark from 1996 to 1999. During his tenure, he was involved in various policy initiatives and government operations.

Legislative Assembly of British Columbia[edit | edit source]

In 2005, Dix was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Vancouver-Kingsway. He has been re-elected in subsequent elections and has served in various capacities within the BC NDP.

Leader of the Opposition[edit | edit source]

From 2011 to 2014, Dix served as the Leader of the Opposition in British Columbia. During his leadership, he focused on issues such as healthcare, education, and environmental protection.

Minister of Health[edit | edit source]

In 2017, following the BC NDP's victory in the provincial election, Dix was appointed as the Minister of Health. In this role, he has overseen the province's response to the COVID-19 pandemic and has worked on various healthcare initiatives, including the expansion of healthcare services and infrastructure.

Adrian Dix is known for his commitment to public service and his advocacy for social justice. He resides in Vancouver with his family.
