Advent of Code
Advent of Code is an annual online programming competition created by Eric Wastl. The event consists of a series of coding challenges that are released daily from December 1st to December 25th. Each day, participants are presented with a new problem to solve, which typically involves algorithms, data structures, and other computer science concepts.
Format[edit | edit source]
The competition is designed to be accessible to programmers of all skill levels. Each day's challenge is divided into two parts, with the second part usually building on the first. Participants can use any programming language to solve the problems, and solutions are submitted through the Advent of Code website.
Scoring and Leaderboards[edit | edit source]
Participants earn points for solving each part of the daily challenge. The first 100 participants to solve each part receive additional points. The competition features global leaderboards, as well as private leaderboards that participants can join to compete with friends or colleagues.
Community and Collaboration[edit | edit source]
Advent of Code has a large and active community. Participants often share their solutions and discuss strategies on platforms like Reddit, Twitter, and various programming forums. Many companies and organizations also use Advent of Code as a team-building exercise or to identify potential talent.
