Airlangga University (Universitas Airlangga) is a prestigious public university located in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Named after King Airlangga, who ruled the East Java region in the 11th century, the university is one of the oldest and most respected institutions of higher education in Indonesia. It was officially established on November 10, 1954, although its faculties, especially the Faculty of Medicine, have histories dating back to the Dutch colonial era.

The roots of Airlangga University can be traced back to the establishment of the Nederlandsch Indische Artsen School (NIAS), a medical school founded in 1913. After Indonesia declared its independence in 1945, there was a pressing need for higher education institutions to support the country's development. In response, the government established Universitas Airlangga on November 10, 1954, incorporating several faculties that were previously part of the University of Indonesia.

Airlangga University has three main campuses, all located in Surabaya. Campus A houses the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Business, and the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. Campus B is home to the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine, and the Faculty of Public Health. Campus C, the largest, accommodates the faculties of Science and Technology, Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, and several others.
