- Albia is a city located in Monroe County, Iowa, United States. It is the county seat of Monroe County and is part of the Des Moines–West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city is known for its historic buildings, including the Monroe County Courthouse, and its rich coal mining history.

- Albia was incorporated as a town in 1856. The city was named after Albia, a place mentioned in the poem "Gertrude of Wyoming" by Thomas Campbell. The city has a rich history of coal mining, with the first coal mine opening in 1868. At its peak, Albia was home to 26 coal mines.
