Alexander Vlahos
Alexander Vlahos (born 30 July 1988) is a Welsh actor, writer, and director. He is best known for his role as Mordred in the BBC television series Merlin and as Philippe I, Duke of Orléans in the Canal+ television series Versailles.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Alexander Vlahos was born in Tumble, Carmarthenshire, Wales. He is of Greek and Welsh descent. Vlahos attended the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, graduating in 2009.
Career[edit | edit source]
Vlahos began his acting career in 2009 with a role in the BBC Wales drama Crash. He gained wider recognition for his portrayal of Mordred in the BBC series Merlin from 2012 to 2013. His performance in Merlin earned him critical acclaim and a strong fan following.
In 2015, Vlahos was cast as Philippe I, Duke of Orléans, in the Canal+ series Versailles. The show, which aired from 2015 to 2018, was a significant success and further established Vlahos as a talented actor in historical drama.

Apart from his notable television roles, Vlahos has also worked in theatre and radio. He has performed in various stage productions, including La Ronde and Fortune's Fool. Additionally, he has lent his voice to several audio dramas, including the Doctor Who audio series produced by Big Finish Productions.
