Alexandra Hospital is a hospital located in Singapore. It is managed by the National University Health System (NUHS). The hospital was named after Queen Alexandra, the wife of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom.

Alexandra Hospital was established in 1938, serving as the British Military Hospital for the Far East. During the Second World War, it was the site of the Alexandra Hospital massacre, where Japanese soldiers killed numerous hospital staff and patients.

Facilities[edit | edit source]

The hospital has a capacity of 400 beds and offers a range of medical services, including general surgery, orthopedics, geriatrics, and rehabilitation medicine. It also houses a therapeutic garden for patients' rehabilitation.

Recognition[edit | edit source]

Alexandra Hospital has received several awards for its innovative approach to healthcare, including the Asian Hospital Management Awards in 2017 and 2018.
