Alexey Molchanov

Alexey Molchanov (Russian: Алексей Молчанов) is a world-renowned freediving athlete from Russia. He is recognized for his numerous world records and his significant contributions to the sport of freediving.

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Alexey Molchanov was born in Volgograd, Russia. His mother, Natalia Molchanova, was a world champion freediver, and she introduced him to the sport at a young age.

Career[edit | edit source]

Molchanov's career in freediving began in earnest in the early 2000s. He quickly rose to prominence in the sport, setting multiple world records in various disciplines of freediving. His achievements include the deepest dive in the Constant Weight Without Fins (CNF) category and the longest Dynamic With Fins (DYN) swim.

In addition to his competitive career, Molchanov is also a prominent figure in the freediving community. He is the co-founder of the Molchanovs Freediving Education System, a comprehensive training program for freedivers of all levels.

Achievements[edit | edit source]

Molchanov has set numerous world records in freediving. Some of his most notable achievements include:

  • In 2013, he set a world record in the CNF category with a dive of 128 meters.
  • In 2018, he broke his own record in the CNF category with a dive of 130 meters.
  • In 2020, he set a world record in the DYN category with a swim of 300 meters.

Personal Life[edit | edit source]

Molchanov is the son of Natalia Molchanova, who was considered one of the greatest freedivers of all time. She tragically disappeared during a dive in 2015.
