American Medical Response (AMR) is a medical services provider in the United States that offers both emergency and non-emergency services. It is a subsidiary of Global Medical Response and is headquartered in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

History[edit | edit source]

American Medical Response was established in 1992, following the merger of several regional ambulance services. The company has since grown to become one of the largest providers of medical transportation in the United States, serving more than 4,000 communities nationwide.

Services[edit | edit source]

AMR provides a range of medical services, including emergency medical services (EMS), patient transport, event medical services, and air ambulance services. The company also offers community paramedicine, a model of care that extends the role of EMS providers to include providing primary care and public health services.

Emergency Medical Services[edit | edit source]

AMR's emergency medical services include paramedic and emergency medical technician (EMT) services, as well as advanced life support and basic life support services. These services are provided in response to 911 calls and other emergencies.

Patient Transport[edit | edit source]

AMR's patient transport services include non-emergency transport for patients who require medical supervision during transport. This can include transport between hospitals, from hospital to home, or to and from medical appointments.

Event Medical Services[edit | edit source]

AMR provides event medical services for a range of events, including sports events, concerts, and large public gatherings. These services can include on-site medical care, standby ambulance services, and medical planning for events.

Air Ambulance Services[edit | edit source]

AMR's air ambulance services provide rapid transport for critically ill or injured patients. These services are often used in situations where ground transport is not feasible or would take too long.
