The American Red Cross National Headquarters is the central office of the American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization that provides emergency assistance, disaster relief, and education in the United States. The headquarters is located in Washington, D.C., and serves as the administrative and operational center for the organization.

The American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton on May 21, 1881. The National Headquarters was established to coordinate the activities of the organization across the country. The building that houses the headquarters was constructed between 1915 and 1917 and is a designated National Historic Landmark.
Architecture[edit | edit source]
The headquarters building is an example of neoclassical architecture, featuring a grand facade with columns and a portico. The interior includes a memorial to the women of the Civil War, which was dedicated in 1921. The building was designed by the architectural firm of Trowbridge & Livingston.

The National Headquarters oversees various functions of the American Red Cross, including:
