Anejaculation

Anejaculation is a medical condition characterized by the inability of a man to ejaculate semen from the penis during sexual climax. This condition can be either primary, where the man has never been able to ejaculate, or secondary, where the condition develops after a period of normal sexual function.

Causes

The causes of anejaculation can be broadly divided into two categories: psychogenic and organic. Psychogenic causes are related to psychological factors such as stress, anxiety, or relationship issues. Organic causes are related to physical or medical conditions such as diabetes, spinal cord injury, or surgery to the prostate or bladder.

Diagnosis

The diagnosis of anejaculation is usually made through a detailed medical history and physical examination. Additional tests may be required to determine the underlying cause, such as blood tests, imaging studies, or neurological evaluations.

Treatment

The treatment of anejaculation depends on the underlying cause. For psychogenic causes, psychotherapy or sex therapy may be beneficial. For organic causes, medical or surgical treatments may be required. In some cases, assisted reproductive technologies such as intrauterine insemination (IUI) or in vitro fertilization (IVF) may be used to achieve pregnancy.
