Annals of Anatomy is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research articles, reviews, and short communications in the field of anatomy and related disciplines. The Annals of Anatomy was first published in 1886 by Gustav Fischer Verlag, a German publishing house. The journal was initially published in German under the title Anatomischer Anzeiger. In 1991, the journal started publishing articles in English and changed its name to Annals of Anatomy - Anatomischer Anzeiger.

The Annals of Anatomy covers a wide range of topics in the field of anatomy, including histology, embryology, neuroanatomy, and cell biology. The journal also publishes articles on the application of anatomy in medicine, biomedical engineering, and biomaterials.
Editorial Board[edit | edit source]
The Annals of Anatomy is managed by an international editorial board composed of renowned scientists in the field of anatomy. The current editor-in-chief is Professor Dr. Friedrich Paulsen, who is based at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg in Germany.
