Apple Picking is a popular activity that involves the harvesting of apples from apple trees. It is a common autumn activity in regions where apple trees are widely cultivated, such as in the United States, Canada, and parts of Europe.

The practice of apple picking dates back thousands of years. The domestication of apple trees is believed to have occurred in Central Asia around 4,000 BC. From there, the cultivation of apple trees spread to Europe and eventually to North America with the arrival of European settlers.

Process[edit | edit source]

Apple picking is typically done by hand to prevent damage to the fruit and the tree. The best method is to twist the apple upwards off the branch and not to pull straight away from the tree. If done correctly, a small piece of the stem should remain with the apple.

Apple Picking Season[edit | edit source]

The apple picking season varies depending on the variety of apple and the location of the orchard. In general, the season can start as early as July and extend into late November. The most common time for apple picking is from September to October.
