The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) is a professional organization dedicated to promoting excellence in perioperative care. The Association for Perioperative Practice was established in 1964 as the National Association of Theatre Nurses (NATN). It was founded to support nurses working in the operating theatre environment. Over the years, the organization expanded its scope to include all perioperative practitioners, leading to its rebranding as the Association for Perioperative Practice in 2005.
