Autism Network International

Autism Network International (ANI) is an advocacy organization founded by autistic individuals in 1992. History

Autism Network International was established by Jim Sinclair, Kathy Grant, and Donna Williams in 1992. ANI was one of the first organizations to argue for the concept of neurodiversity – the idea that neurological differences should be recognized and respected as a social category similar to ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, and disability.

ANI also operates an online mailing list, ANI-L, which serves as a forum for autistic individuals to discuss various topics of interest, share personal experiences, and provide mutual support.
