- Avondale is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is part of the New Orleans–Metairie–Kenner Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,441 at the 2010 census.

- Avondale is located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River. It is bordered by the communities of Bridge City to the east and Waggaman to the west. The CDP is primarily residential, but it also includes a portion of the Avondale Shipyard, one of the largest employers in Jefferson Parish.
