BC Liquor Stores
BC Liquor Stores is a chain of retail outlets in the Canadian province of British Columbia that sells alcoholic beverages. The stores are operated by the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch (BCLDB), a government agency responsible for the wholesale distribution and retail sale of alcohol in the province.
History[edit | edit source]
The BC Liquor Stores were established in 1921 following the end of Prohibition in Canada. The government of British Columbia created the BCLDB to regulate the sale of alcohol and ensure that it was sold in a controlled and responsible manner. Over the years, the number of stores has grown, and they have become a significant source of revenue for the provincial government.
Operations[edit | edit source]
BC Liquor Stores operate under the jurisdiction of the British Columbia Ministry of Finance. The stores offer a wide range of products, including beer, wine, spirits, and cider. They also provide information and education on responsible drinking and the effects of alcohol.

There are over 190 BC Liquor Stores located throughout British Columbia. These stores are strategically placed to serve both urban and rural communities. The largest store is located in Vancouver, which offers an extensive selection of products.
