Babcock University is a private Christian university located in Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria. It is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Babcock University was established in 1959 as Adventist College of West Africa (ACWA) before it was renamed Babcock University after the American missionary David C. Babcock who was instrumental in the establishment of the institution. The university started with a modest number of students and faculties but has grown significantly over the years. It was officially inaugurated as a university on April 20, 1999, by the Nigerian University Commission (NUC).
