Bay Lake is a city in Orange County, Florida. It is one of two municipalities controlled by The Walt Disney Company in Florida, the other being Lake Buena Vista. The city is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Bay Lake was incorporated on December 2, 1969, as part of the creation of the Reedy Creek Improvement District, which was established to provide municipal services to the Walt Disney World Resort. The city was named after Bay Lake, a natural lake that is located east of the Magic Kingdom.

. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 22.7 square miles, of which 21.5 square miles is land and 1.2 square miles is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the 2020 census, Bay Lake had a population of 29. The city is unique in that it is primarily composed of employees of The Walt Disney Company who live in the area to maintain the municipal services of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Government[edit | edit source]
Bay Lake operates under a mayor–council government system. The city council is composed of members who are employees of The Walt Disney Company, ensuring that the company maintains control over the municipal services provided within the city.
Economy[edit | edit source]
The economy of Bay Lake is dominated by the Walt Disney World Resort, which is the largest single-site employer in the United States. The resort includes four theme parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom, as well as numerous hotels, restaurants, and other entertainment venues.
Education[edit | edit source]
Bay Lake is served by the Orange County Public Schools system. However, due to its small population and unique nature, there are no public schools within the city limits. Most residents are employees of The Walt Disney Company and their families, who may choose to send their children to schools in nearby communities.
