Beenleigh, Queensland
Beenleigh, Queensland is a town and suburb in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. It is located on the Pacific Motorway, approximately 34 kilometres south of the Brisbane central business district.

Beenleigh was originally established in 1866 and its name is derived from the English town of Beenleigh, Devon. The town was once a major centre for sugar production, with the Beenleigh Rum Distillery being established in 1884.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Beenleigh is situated on the Albert River, which separates it from the neighbouring suburb of Mount Warren Park. The town is surrounded by a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial areas.
Economy[edit | edit source]
The economy of Beenleigh is diverse, with sectors such as retail, manufacturing, and agriculture playing significant roles. The town is home to the Beenleigh Rum Distillery, one of the oldest rum distilleries in Australia. Other notable businesses include the Beenleigh Artisan Distillers and the Beenleigh Marketplace shopping centre.

Beenleigh is served by several schools, including Beenleigh State High School, Beenleigh State School, and St Joseph's Tobruk Memorial School. The town also has a campus of the TAFE Queensland.

Beenleigh railway station is part of the Queensland Rail City network, offering services to Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and other parts of South East Queensland.

Beenleigh is known for its cultural events and facilities. The Beenleigh Artisan Distillers hosts regular events, and the Beenleigh Historical Village provides a glimpse into the town's past. The Beenleigh Theatre Group is one of the oldest community theatre groups in Queensland.
