Bengaluru (also known as Bangalore) is the capital city of the Indian state of Karnataka. It is known for its pleasant climate throughout the year and is located in southern India on the Deccan Plateau.

Bengaluru was founded in 1537 by Kempe Gowda I, a feudal ruler under the Vijayanagara Empire. The city has grown significantly over the centuries and is now a major hub for Information Technology in India.
