Bowinn Ma
Bowinn Ma is a Canadian politician who has been serving as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for North Vancouver-Lonsdale since 2017. She is a member of the British Columbia New Democratic Party (BC NDP).
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Bowinn Ma was born in Canada to Taiwanese immigrant parents. She grew up in British Columbia and attended the University of British Columbia (UBC), where she earned a degree in civil engineering. She later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Sauder School of Business at UBC.
Career[edit | edit source]
Before entering politics, Bowinn Ma worked as a professional engineer. She was involved in various infrastructure projects, including transportation planning and project management.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Bowinn Ma was elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the 2017 provincial election, representing the electoral district of North Vancouver-Lonsdale. She was re-elected in the 2020 provincial election.
Roles and Responsibilities[edit | edit source]
As an MLA, Bowinn Ma has been an advocate for various issues, including public transportation, affordable housing, and climate change. She has served on several committees and has been appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary for TransLink, the regional transportation authority for Metro Vancouver.
