Bromont, Quebec
Bromont, Quebec is a city located in southwestern Quebec, Canada, at the base of Mount Brome. It is part of the Brome-Missisquoi Regional County Municipality.

Bromont was established in 1964. The city was created out of the merger of the Township of West Shefford and the village of Bromont. The name Bromont was derived from the contraction of "Brome" (from Mount Brome) and "Mont" (French for mountain).
Geography[edit | edit source]
Bromont is situated in the Eastern Townships, an area of Quebec known for its scenic beauty and historical significance. The city is surrounded by the Yamaska River and numerous mountains, including Mount Brome, which is a popular destination for outdoor activities.
Economy[edit | edit source]
Bromont's economy is primarily based on tourism and the high-tech industry. The city is home to the Bromont, Quebec Ski Resort, one of the largest night skiing areas in North America. In addition, Bromont houses a significant number of high-tech companies, including the semiconductor manufacturing plant of Micron Technology.
Culture[edit | edit source]
Bromont is known for its cultural events and festivals, such as the Bromont en Art visual arts festival and the International Bromont, an equestrian event that attracts competitors from around the world. The city also has a vibrant culinary scene, with a variety of restaurants offering local and international cuisine.

Education in Bromont is overseen by the Val-des-Cerfs School Board. The city has several elementary schools and one high school, Massey-Vanier High School. Bromont also has a public library, the Bromont Library, which offers a variety of resources and programs for residents.
Transportation[edit | edit source]
Bromont is served by Autoroute 10, which provides direct access to Montreal and Sherbrooke. The city also has a regional airport, the Bromont Airport, which offers charter flights and flight training services.
