Budweiser
Budweiser is an American-style pale lager produced by Anheuser-Busch, part of AB InBev. Internationally, Budweiser may also refer to an entirely different beer brand, originating in the Czech city of České Budějovice, historically known as Budweis.
History[edit | edit source]
The name "Budweiser" is a German derivative adjective, meaning "of Budweis". Beer has been brewed in Budweis (now České Budějovice, Czech Republic) since it was founded in 1265. Adolphus Busch and his friend Carl Conrad, a liquor importer, developed a "Bohemian-style" lager in the United States, inspired by this region in the Czech Republic, and they launched the beer with the name Budweiser.
Production[edit | edit source]
Budweiser is made with a large proportion of rice in addition to hops and barley malt. Budweiser is produced in various breweries located around the United States and the rest of the world. It is a filtered beer available in draught and packaged forms.
Marketing[edit | edit source]
Budweiser has been a major sponsor of NASCAR, and has sponsored many famous drivers such as Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick. Budweiser also advertises in many other countries and sports, making it a well-known beer brand worldwide.
