Burapha University (Thai: มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา) is a public university located in Thailand, with its main campus in Chonburi Province. Established in 1955, it originally served as a higher education institution for training skilled personnel in the eastern region of Thailand. Over the years, Burapha University has expanded its academic offerings and now includes a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs across various fields of study, including Medicine, Engineering, Science, Liberal Arts, and Business Administration.

Burapha University was founded on July 8, 1955, initially as Bangsaen Educational College aimed at training secondary school teachers. In 1956, it became a part of Chulalongkorn University as the Bangsaen College of Education. It was later elevated to university status and renamed Burapha University in 1990, reflecting its commitment to serving as a source of knowledge for the development of the Eastern region and the country as a whole.

The university has three campuses:

  • The main campus in Bangsaen, Chonburi Province, which houses the majority of the faculties and administrative buildings.
  • The Chanthaburi Campus, focusing on natural resources, gemology, and marine studies.
  • The Sakaeo Campus, which specializes in border trade studies, logistics, and languages.
