Cà Mau
Cà Mau is a city in southern Vietnam. It is the capital of Cà Mau Province, a province in the Mekong Delta region, in the southernmost part of Vietnam's inland territory. Vietnam's former Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng was born and raised here. The city is characterized by its system of transport canals and most goods are transported here by boats and barges.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Cà Mau is located in the southern part of Vietnam, an area surrounded by the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. The area's dominant geography is low-lying and very flat, with a higher elevation in the west, being a coastal plain at the base of the Mekong Delta. The city's proximity to the sea gives it a tropical climate, with the monsoon season occurring from May to November.
Economy[edit | edit source]
The economy of Cà Mau is centered around agriculture, aquaculture, services, and industries. The city is known for its shrimp farming industry, both for domestic consumption and export. Cà Mau is also the source of many other seafood products, such as crab, catfish, and mudskipper. Besides seafood, the city is also a significant producer of rice.

Cà Mau has a rich cultural history with traditional music, including đờn ca tài tử, a traditional musical art form of southern Vietnam recognized by UNESCO. The city is also known for its bird parks, such as the Cà Mau Bird Park, with hundreds of species of birds.
Transportation[edit | edit source]
Transportation in Cà Mau is diverse and includes several means of transport. The city has a network of both roads and waterways. The most common means of transportation are motorbikes, buses, cars, and boats. The city is served by Cà Mau Airport, with commercial flights connecting it to Ho Chi Minh City.
