The Canadian Respiratory Journal (CRJ) is a peer-reviewed medical journal that focuses on respiratory medicine. It is the official journal of the Canadian Thoracic Society and is published by Hindawi Publishing Corporation.

The Canadian Respiratory Journal was established in 1994. It was initially published by Pulsus Group, a Canadian publisher of medical and scientific journals. In 2016, the journal was acquired by Hindawi Publishing Corporation, an open-access publisher.
Scope and Content[edit | edit source]
The Canadian Respiratory Journal publishes original research articles, review articles, case reports, and clinical practice guidelines in all areas of respiratory medicine. Topics covered include asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), lung cancer, tuberculosis, pulmonary hypertension, and sleep apnea, among others. The journal also publishes special issues on specific topics in respiratory medicine.
Abstracting and Indexing[edit | edit source]
The Canadian Respiratory Journal is abstracted and indexed in PubMed Central, Scopus, and the Science Citation Index Expanded. According to the Journal Citation Reports, the journal has a 2019 impact factor of 1.727.
Editorial Board[edit | edit source]
The Canadian Respiratory Journal has an international editorial board composed of experts in various sub-disciplines of respiratory medicine. The current editor-in-chief is Dr. Dennis Jensen, a professor of kinesiology and physical education at McGill University.
Open Access Policy[edit | edit source]
As an open access journal, all articles published in the Canadian Respiratory Journal are freely available online. The journal follows the Budapest Open Access Initiative's definition of open access, meaning that users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of its articles.
