Cancún

Cancún is a city in southeastern Mexico, located on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo. It is a significant tourist destination in Mexico and the seat of the municipality of Benito Juárez. The city is located on the Caribbean Sea and is one of Mexico's easternmost points.

Cancún is located in Quintana Roo, which is on the eastern part of the Yucatán Peninsula. It is surrounded by the Caribbean Sea and has a tropical climate, which is classified as a tropical monsoon climate.

Cancún was part of the ancient Mayan civilization and is still home to many Mayan ruins. The city was officially founded in 1970 and was developed into a tourist resort in the 1980s.
