Central Illinois
Central Illinois is a region of the U.S. state of Illinois that is located in the central part of the state. It is characterized by its agricultural landscape, small towns, and mid-sized cities. The region is often considered to be the heart of the state, both geographically and culturally.

Central Illinois is generally defined as the area between the Illinois River to the west and the Indiana border to the east. The northern boundary is often considered to be around the city of Peoria, while the southern boundary is less clearly defined but is often considered to be around the city of Effingham.
