Cheltenham Township, Pennsylvania
Cheltenham Township is a home rule municipality in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It is a suburb of Philadelphia and is part of the Delaware Valley metropolitan area. The township is known for its rich history, diverse population, and vibrant community life.

Cheltenham Township was established in 1682 by Tobias Leech, a Quaker who emigrated from Cheltenham, England. The area was originally inhabited by the Lenape people. Over the years, Cheltenham has grown from a rural community to a bustling suburban area. The township played a significant role during the American Revolutionary War, serving as a site for several skirmishes and as a refuge for soldiers.

Cheltenham Township is located at the southeastern edge of Montgomery County, adjacent to the northern border of Philadelphia. The township covers an area of approximately 9 square miles. It is bordered by Abington Township to the north, Jenkintown to the northwest, and Philadelphia to the south and east.
