Chen Saijuan

Chen Saijuan (born 1962) is a renowned hematologist and an academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering. She is recognized for her significant contributions to the field of hematology, particularly in the research and treatment of leukemia.

Chen Saijuan was born in 1962 in China. She pursued her undergraduate studies in medicine at the Shanghai Medical University, where she developed a keen interest in hematology. After completing her bachelor's degree, she went on to earn her master's and doctorate degrees from the same institution.

Career[edit | edit source]

Chen Saijuan began her career as a hematologist at the Ruijin Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. She quickly rose through the ranks due to her dedication and expertise, eventually becoming the director of the State Key Laboratory of Medical Genomics and the Leukemia Research Institute at Ruijin Hospital.

Chen's research primarily focuses on the molecular mechanisms of leukemia. She has made significant contributions to the understanding of the genetic and epigenetic alterations in leukemia, which has led to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for this disease.

Chen Saijuan has received numerous awards and honors for her work in hematology. She was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2007, one of the highest honors for a scientist in China. She has also been recognized by the World Health Organization for her contributions to leukemia research.
