Chukauni
Chukauni is a popular Nepalese dish, originating from the Palpa region in the western part of Nepal. It is a type of potato salad that is often served cold and is a common dish in both local homes and restaurants.
Ingredients and Preparation[edit | edit source]
The main ingredient in Chukauni is potatoes, which are boiled and then cooled. Other ingredients typically include yogurt, onions, coriander, green chilies, salt, turmeric, and fenugreek. Some variations of the dish may also include cucumbers, carrots, or other vegetables.
To prepare Chukauni, the potatoes are first boiled until they are soft. They are then peeled and cut into small pieces. The onions, green chilies, and other vegetables are chopped and mixed with the potatoes. The mixture is then seasoned with salt, turmeric, and fenugreek. Finally, yogurt is added to the mixture and everything is stirred together until it is well combined. The dish is then refrigerated and served cold.
