Cocio

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Cocio is a Danish brand of chocolate milk, known for its rich and authentic taste. It was first produced in 1951 by Anker Pallesen, who developed the recipe in his small dairy in the town of Esbjerg in southwestern Denmark. The brand is now owned by the international food company Arla Foods.

History[edit | edit source]

Cocio was founded by Anker Pallesen, his wife Ella, and brother-in-law, Halli Thomsen. The original recipe, which remains unchanged to this day, consists of milk, cocoa, and sugar. The brand's slogan, "Nothing but great taste", reflects its commitment to simplicity and quality.

In 2008, Cocio was acquired by Arla Foods, a global dairy company based in Denmark. Despite the change in ownership, the production of Cocio remains in Esbjerg, staying true to its roots.

Products[edit | edit source]

Cocio offers a range of chocolate milk products, including the classic Cocio Original, Cocio Dark, and Cocio Light. Each variant caters to different taste preferences, but all maintain the brand's signature smooth and creamy texture.

Cocio Original is the brand's flagship product, made from the original recipe. Cocio Dark, on the other hand, offers a more intense chocolate flavor, while Cocio Light is a lower-calorie option for those watching their sugar intake.

Popularity[edit | edit source]

Cocio is a popular choice among consumers not only in Denmark but also in other parts of the world. It is particularly well-loved in the United Kingdom and the United States, where it is often enjoyed as a refreshing drink or used as an ingredient in recipes.
