Crystal Head Vodka
Crystal Head Vodka is a brand of vodka manufactured by Globefill Inc. in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The vodka is known for its distinctive packaging in a clear glass bottle shaped like a human skull. The brand was founded by actor Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander in 2008.
History[edit | edit source]
Crystal Head Vodka was launched in 2008 by Dan Aykroyd and John Alexander. The idea for the brand was inspired by the legend of the crystal skulls, which are believed by some to be ancient artifacts with mystical properties. The founders aimed to create a high-quality vodka that was free of additives and presented in a unique and eye-catching bottle.
Production[edit | edit source]
The vodka is made from Canadian corn and is distilled four times. It is then filtered seven times, with three of those filtrations passing through layers of semi-precious crystals known as Herkimer diamonds. The water used in the production process is sourced from a deep aquifer in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Packaging[edit | edit source]
The distinctive skull-shaped bottle was designed by John Alexander and is produced by the Italian glass manufacturer Bruni Glass. The design is intended to symbolize life, reflecting power and enlightenment.
Awards and Recognition[edit | edit source]
Crystal Head Vodka has received several awards for its quality and packaging. It has been recognized at various international spirits competitions, including the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the Beverage Testing Institute.
