Darla Hood (November 8, 1931 – June 13, 1979) was an American actress and singer, best known for her role as the leading lady in the Our Gang series of short films from 1935 to 1941.

Darla Hood was born on November 8, 1931, in Leedey, Oklahoma, USA.
Career[edit | edit source]
Hood's career began at a young age when she was discovered by a talent scout. She made her film debut in 1935 at the age of four in the short film Our Gang Follies of 1936. She quickly became a popular member of the Our Gang cast, known for her curly hair and expressive face.
Hood appeared in over 40 Our Gang shorts during her time with the series. She also had roles in other films and television shows, showcasing her talent as an actress and singer.
After her time with Our Gang, Hood continued to work in the entertainment industry, appearing in various projects until her retirement in the 1950s.

Darla Hood married twice and had two children. She passed away on June 13, 1979, at the age of 47.
