David L. Reich

David L. Reich is an American anesthesiologist and academic administrator. He is currently the president and chief operating officer of Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Reich was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Career[edit | edit source]

Reich began his career at Mount Sinai as a resident in anesthesiology. He later served as the chair of the Department of Anesthesiology from 2004 to 2013. In 2013, he was appointed as the president and chief operating officer of Mount Sinai Hospital.

As an anesthesiologist, Reich has contributed to the field through his research on neuroanesthesia, particularly in relation to brain injury and neuroprotection. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and has been invited to speak at many national and international conferences.

Reich is also involved in medical education. He has served as a mentor to many medical students and residents, and has been recognized for his contributions to teaching and education.

Awards and recognition[edit | edit source]

Reich has received several awards for his work in anesthesiology and medical education. These include the Distinguished Service Award from the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

Reich is married and has two children. He resides in New York City.
